thursday
when i unravel this gauze
across the
pale wafers
of day
across the portions
of light
i am testing
the calibration
of the world
not the universe
so, you will most likely
find me
sitting
in the manner of indians
in the front yard
fingering the growth
and the cushion of dirt
upon which i rest my weight
and, you
damp haired
and red faced
from cycling
will laugh at my ridiculous experiments
and, then i too
will see the humor in it all
across the
pale wafers
of day
across the portions
of light
i am testing
the calibration
of the world
not the universe
so, you will most likely
find me
sitting
in the manner of indians
in the front yard
fingering the growth
and the cushion of dirt
upon which i rest my weight
and, you
damp haired
and red faced
from cycling
will laugh at my ridiculous experiments
and, then i too
will see the humor in it all
